Testing the Olympus OM10

So my lovely friend Chris Collins gifted me his Olympus OM10 for my birthday. Bless him! This is such a fantastic camera and with the optional manual adapter lets you control the shutter speed as well. Check out some photographs taken with this lovely camera.

Tripping with the Olympus Trip 35

I recently received an old Olympus Trip 35 film camera as a gift and I was super excited to put some film in it and give it a go. The Trip 35 was designed to be an easy to use point and click camera with a Zuiko 40mm F2.8 lens. Check out some of the photographs taken with the Trip and my thoughts on the little camera.

What did I think about this little camera?

It was very refreshing to use a film camera that was designed as a point and click for holiday photos. The Zuiko 40mm F2.8 lens is super sharp and excellent in low light. I had trouble focusing the camera with the first couple of rolls I shot. I realized later that this was due to user error more than anything else. The Trip 35 utilizes a zone focusing system with 4 preset focus modes. Close-ups (1m), head-shots and portraits (2m), group shots (3m) and infinity for landscapes. I found that with a roll of 400 ISO film and the camera set to infinity, I had better luck getting sharp photographs.

Overall I am very pleased with the results I was able to achieve with this little camera and I found it perfect for street photography since it is discreet and silent.

It’s available for less than £60 on eBay and I would recommend anyone interested in film photography to give this camera a go.

Until next time, adios amigos!
